Tackle selection and use are so important. the little things can make the biggest. What will work in more then one application and how that saves you money, weight and space on the boat. Lures are endless by type, size, colors and weight that cost big bucks. But when a few will do most of it or they are what does work most often, you save again. Setting them up in the right patterns, at the right depth and speed for your vessel maybe the best day on the water you ever spent. Vessels are like lures, different ones catch different anglers attention based on size, color and cost. But all are fishable platforms. You may think that you can only fish four rods. With one baited lure on each rod that is only four opportunities to catch a fish. Then they are only covering the width of the vessel. Let the Pro see what your vessels true coverage could be with a few minor additions to your arsenal of his tricks. How about increasing your opportunities by two or three times, now you are catching fish. BOATING SKILLS are important when fishing to not only find the fish but to stay with them when trolling. How to better use the electronic plotters and depth finders to improve your fishing. What about fine tuning them and really knowing what you are seeing on the depth finder. What is bait and/or fish? How do I use the Radar to find fish? How do I anchor so I am right over the structure when the tide is running. Many of these things make you a better angler, day for day. There is a saying, if it does not have value it is not worth anything, this is true. So what is it going to cost me to learn from the Pro who has taken years of trial and error to learn. It depends on what you want to learn and to what extent. But a good rule is you can only learn so much before you start to miss the details. Capt. Sonney feels that in a half days’ session you will have gained a lot of information, asked hundreds of questions and experienced new things. For a hundred dollars an hour, you will be a better angler, boater and sports fisherman then before. Since most fish with a fishing buddy, friend or wife, you can invite them to learn as well, what a deal! Guide Services are by the hour at $100.00 for learning sessions. Vessel underway are flat rate of 4 hours, if it takes you all day long to do it. But I do expect to catch fish on your boat or we will know why. |
